It was somehow expected for allegations of an attempted coup to surface after the BERSIH 3.0 rally on 28 April.

After all, the number of participants more than doubled to the reported 300,000 members of the public……..more than the number that marched to the National Mosque in support of Anwar Ibrahim back in 1998.

The numbers, but more importantly, the composition in terms of age, race, sex, blue&white collar workers amongst the participants has sent shudders to the establishment… the point of the UMNO led government nearly declaring an emergency, figuratively speaking!

This panic within the establishment has reached the point of allegations of an attempted coup…….which the police is naturally investigating on…..since it came from the Prime Minister himself!

The other ‘panic’ allegation is that BERSIH has been hijacked by the opposition parties.

Crikey, don’t they realize that birds of the same feather flock together?

And what’s the common factor?

Both BERSIH and the opposition want reforms to the electoral process. Period.

And what about the credible assertion of an attempted coup?

Of course, the coup is REAL, figurative speaking, but through the democratic process……via an electoral system that is fair and transparent minus the alleged creation of ‘voters’ who do not legally qualify to be on the electoral roll.

Having Identity Cards issued with expiry dates is certainly novel, if true!

There is no necessity for both sides to raise the stakes.

Just ensure it is a fair fight as far as possible and let the democratic process proceed without any inhibition.

It really isn’t that difficult.
