SELANGOR CHURCH RAID WITHOUT WARRANT : A CONTINUING ATTEMPT TO EMBARRASS SELANGOR STATE GOVERNMENT?

“THE WORDS ‘QURAN’ AND ‘PRAY’ WERE USED IN FRONT OF MUSLIMS DURING THE DINNER”

That was the statement made by (ex Selangor PAS leader) Hasan Ali in supporting the raid carried out by the religious department, JAIS.

Crikey, if that is the basis of someone who is supposed to be formerly in charge of Islamic Affairs in the state, it would unfortunately give the impression of ‘shallow-ness’ in thinking in justifying an abhorrent act!

I have attended ‘joint’ meals where our Muslim friends were invited to give thanks in accordance with Islam.

Does that encroach on the rights of other religions?

Of course, NO!

The act aside, this is clearly a continuing attempt to embarrass the Selangor State government AND at the same time, break up whatever cooperation or friendship currently existing between the various races in Malaysia in general, and Selangor in particular.

This also appears to be a clear sign of intimidation to Muslims who associate with other religious denominations in any way.

Being in the premises of another religious order is NOT against the law!

PAS’ Khalid Samad gave a talk in a church. DAP’s Teo Nie Ching was invited to a mosque for an event.

To many, this is a sad reflection of the insecurity of the UMNO led government, resulting in them using various agencies under their control to stifle the opposition.

Islam is not the problem. In fact, many non-Muslims respectfully read the Holy Quran.

I recall that when under detention, PSM leader Jeyakumar was refused a copy of the Bible to read, he then asked for a copy of the Quran …… which was also denied!

This episode appears to give strength to the already strong dissatisfaction with the way UMNO is leading the government.

Btw, Hasan Ali lost badly at the recent PAS elections and removed as Selangor PAS chief.

I wonder why?
