I strongly hold the view that a country’s army is to protect the country and its citizens.

But what we have in Thailand is the army killing their own citizens.

“But they are armed terrorists bent on killing,” one might retort.

But hang on, all this emanated from the illegal takeover of power by the Army against a democratically elected government. This is KEY!

The government of Abhisit Vejjajiva does not have the legal and moral mandate from its people.

The red shirt protesters are doing the same thing that the yellow shirt protesters did ….. the only difference is that the former wants a democratically elected government restored whilst the yellow shirters want the direct opposite.

The fact that the King has refused to intervene is quite alarming …. the only gesture we read about is that the Royal Family will pay for the expenses of those red shirters injured in clashes with the army.

Are we seeing the beginning of the end of a revered monarchy?
