DELAY IN LAUNCH OF NEW ECONOMIC MODEL : SCROTUM COLLAPSE?

There you have it. The so-called launch of the New Economic Model (NEM) that never was ….. especially when it was claimed that the announcement will still occur at the end of March, although it willl be done in two phases.
Instead, Najib declared that the NEM Report, prepared by his own appointed National Economic Advisory Council, would be made public in order to solicit comments and buy-in from the Rakyat.
The detailed report would presumably factor in comments after which the NEAC will then be required to set out the implementation of the NEM very clearly so that it stays on the intended path.
Bottom line is that Najib is such a risk averter that he will not approve something that is being
vehemently resisted by a group, especially if that group comprises people his own party, UMNO, also represents.
He plays it so safe and close to his chest that every perceived risk needs to be eliminated!!
This reminds me of the time during the Mahathir and Tengku Razaleigh fall-out in the mid-1980s, where Najib ‘sat on the fence’ until the very last second before conveniently slipping into victor Mahathir’s camp.
I suppose that is the trait of a consummate politician cum survivor.
Najib is fully aware that the opposition is hoping that he will make all the unpopular but necessary decisions to get the country out of the doldrums …. after which the opposition would reap the benefits from the people’s disgruntlement against Najib’s UMNO led government!
The sudden and steep hike in petrol prices to RM2.70 per litre during Pak Lah’s administration which had a major negative impact on the UMNO led government during the March 2008 General Elections, easily comes to mind.
Najib appears to be aware that the change in people’s attitude and culture (especially in the civil service) is essential for the NEM’s effective implementation.
His selection of Idris Jala as a Minister to spear-head the ‘Government Transformation Programme’ is actually a step in the right direction. It is not only aimed at re-directing and re-focusing its civil service but also to get rid of those dead-woods that refuse to change for the better!
So, okay, I’ll have to give Najib some latitude on this. We are all aware that it is not easy to push through the changes that need to be made when the parasites are firmly entrenched in those very positions empowered to facilitate those changes!
Everyone’s watching with great trepidation! But change we must!

AL-JAZEERA’S “SHIT CONVERSATION” WITH IBRAHIM ALI

That is the only way to describe the interview Al-Jazeera had with Ibrahim Ali.
See it yourself!
Imagine a character like this leading an organisation like Perkasa, a self interest group fighting under the guise of ensuring the survival of an ethnic group in Malaysia.
There wasn’t any logical explanation or rationale which the interviewer was trying to elicit from this Member of Parliament for Pasir Mas in Kelantan.
Instead, the only impression out of that interview was, ‘Shit….. shit …… and shit!’
In stark contrast, listen to Farish Noor in the same Al-Jazeera clip. Farish, a Malaysian, represents that group of confident, level headed and knowledgeable Malays who will ultimately prevail over the parasitic kind epitomized by the likes of Ibrahim Ali.
By the way, Ibrahim Ali got his seat by grovelling the opposition Islamic party, PAS, for the ticket to stand ….. after which he
conveniently declared himself an independent!
What a jerk …. what a S-Head!
NAJIB TO MEET CHUA SOI LEK : MEETING OF SOUL OR SOILED COMRADES?
Anwar Ibrahim and his ilk have for some time been insinuating about Najib’s libido and hence his ‘extra-curricular’ activities outside of his Ministerial duties.

I’m sorry ….. but those were my first thoughts when I saw the headline on The Star online yesterday, ”PM to meet Dr Chua before deciding on Cabinet reshuffle”. Click HERE
Just as Rod Stewart sang…. ‘The first cut is the deepest’ …… well, the first thought is the clearest or most obvious!!
Anwar Ibrahim and his ilk have for some time been insinuating about Najib’s libido and hence his ‘extra-curricular’ activities outside of his Ministerial duties.
These insinuations include his purported sexual relationship with the murdered Altantuya, whom Abdul Razak Baginda had also admitted having had a tryst with.
From what I understand, ‘men of certain positions’ don’t usually share the same girl ….. a Minister sharing the same girl with the Minister’s subordinate or even hand-me-downs? Hard to fathom!!
Still, that is the perception that has been created for Najib.
And with the new ‘Soiled Chinese’ MCA President due to meet Najib on the Ministerial posts to be allocated to the MCA, it is no wonder that some see it as a meeting of ‘Soul Comrades’ or is it ‘Soiled Comrades’?
MCA IS NOW TO BE LED BY A ‘SOILED CHINESE’
If at all, the interest lay in the fate of the person whom I had insinuated a ‘Scaredy Cat’ but later on proved me wrong by getting nearly to the bottom of the Port Klang Free Zone fiasco. I say nearly because the other goons involved were most probably outside his jurisdiction!

Well, nearly everyone was waiting with much anxiety the results of the MCA elections ….. not to say that it would have much impact on the Malaysian Chinese electorate, who have likened the MCA as an elitist, business cum political entity.
In any case, the results are clear for all to see …… Ong Tee Keat cannot be the saviour of the party ….. the party is too ‘slanted’ to get back on the original right path.
Maybe that’s why a ‘Soiled Chinese’ was the preferred choice!
STALE COLONIALIST WARNING BY MAHATHIR

It’s been sometime since we’ve heard from Mahathir.
There is no doubt that he is very concerned that everything he had enacted and erected over his 22 years of Premier-ship is being dismantled right before his eyes!
And along the way, Mahathir gets implicated for having been the instigator of those structures that have now been deemed arcane by society today.
And of course, to protect his legacy, he raises issues like Malay interests, meddling foreigners with colonialist intentions and the works!
Quite honestly, it has become so stale, patronising to the point of insulting, from a man whose perceived stature is slowly but surely being chipped away to the other point of being cast as the demon that the late Tunku Abdul Rahman had always perceived him to be ….. and whose view may even be shared by the late Tun Hussein Onn!!
The setting up of Perkasa and its first AGM a few days’ ago is but an attempt to revert to the nostalgic days of the yester-years for the UMNO has-beens. Even the keris kissing by Ibrahim Ali is viewed with amusement ….. not for reasons of mocking but for the want of originality! Keris kissing is permanently linked to Hishamuddin Hussein!!
Seriously though, these UMNO has-beens should have a heart to heart talk with their children about how Malaysia has evolved since their days of the Malayan Union. They may then realise why it is essential to change with the times for the betterment of any society.
I have always held the view that a confident and knowledgeable Malay will arise from the 1970s New Economic Policy, that had its merits insofar as intentions are concerned …. implementation, even up till today, has been the perpetual problem!
And that confident and knowledgeable Malay will view the ‘silly crutches’ espoused by the likes of Perkasa, as nothing but an insult to the former’s ability and intelligence.
It was once highlighted that any advantage given to a segment of society will never be surrendered even if they are confident and knowledgeable.
Acknowledged …. but that is only on the assumption that the cake is enough to be shared by ALL in that so-called privileged segment of society!
But it’s NOT and with the elitist and corrupt prevailing, the lack of sharing becomes even clearer for all to see ….. that the rich (usually politicians and the connected ones) become richer and the poor (ordinary and educated) become poorer.
Sigh!

When I came across Anwar Ibrahim’s assertion that he will not go back to jail this time ….. and seemingly determined about it, it started me thinking, “What’s his response to the set-up?”
When I highlighted in my earlier postings about the editorial in the ‘Jewish influenced American administration’s mouth-piece’, The Wall Street Journal and its veiled threat against Malaysia should Anwar
be convicted, many (except the Govt) may not have taken it seriously.
Well, it appears that the Anwar group is doing its rounds overseas to tap support and sympathy against what is described as an ‘under the belt
scheme to discredit a worthy opponent’ to the mantle of the Prime Minister-ship.
The latest is an editorial in the influential and respected Financial Times of the UK. Since this paper requires subscription which is rather costly, you can find the editorial at …… where else but the Anwar Ibrahim blog!!! click HERE

How else are we to describe them?
I am of course referring to the 4 froggies or party hoppers as they are usually referred to in the UK. I am not inclined to agree with the ‘party hoppers’ term….. it’s too polite!
Shabbily contemptuous is the best description of the performance of Zahrain and Zulkifli Nordin todate. Is that the best that they can do? I suppose they had to do something to make good the contract.
Every payment needs a consideration. So whatever Zahrain and Zulkifli got in terms of ‘payment’, they had to reciprocate in a fashion that would require the maximum damage to the opposition. The jury is still out on this point.
Maybe the by-election for the Hulu Selangor Parliamentary seat would be a good litmus test for both sides. After all, the previous incumbent, the late Zainal Abidin of PKR won the seat with a small majority.
I am waiting for the performances of Mohsin and Tee Beng to, as Clint Eastwood used to say, “MAKE MY DAY”!
UPDATE ON 27 MARCH 2010: BTW, there was much brouhaha about Anwar Ibrahim not responding to the taunts and comments of Zahrain and Zulkifli recently and that was touted as a set-back for Anwar.
However, Anwar did earlier respond in the form of an apology to the Rakyat and taking responsibility for making the mistake of choosing parliamentary candidates who were ‘shaky and unclean’ (click HERE).
Doesn’t that mean ‘SHAKILY CORRUPT’?
MACC, aren’t you going to investigate this statement of Anwar’s?

Early this morning saw the passing of someone whom I had known all my life ….. someone who was initially despised by many …. but later on in life became someone others sought to emulate.
She was someone who epitomized patience, caring, compassion and love. She reminds me of the scene in the movie, ‘The Samurai’, when Tom Cruize told the King, “I won’t tell you how (s)he died. Instead I’ll tell you how (s)he lived her life”.
She was such a difficult and feared person in her early life that many could not believe that she could change into the kind and loving person that she was until the very end. She always attributed her change to her ‘Lord, The Almighty’.
Her passing reminds me that we are all sentient beings, living in this transitory world of ours. Our time is but a moment borrowed, our
breaths numbered ….. but hopefully, our efforts have not been reckless, indifferent nor in vain.
Bless her soul.
Btw, I’m not a Christian ….. you can consider me a ‘God’ fearing free-thinker though!
‘SYNDICATE CONNECTIONS’ – A CAUSE FOR WORRY?

It all started with the following statement (extract) by Ramli Yusuff to the press, including Malaysiakini, after the High Court had set aside the appeal of the prosecution against the Sessions Court decision to acquit him of any wrong-doing:-
“To all the men in blue, I say to you — do your job fearlessly and professionally. Uphold your oath of office to ‘sedia berkhidmat.’ Do not be afraid of the syndicate. Protect the innocent.” (Click HERE)
Maybe, it’s the choice of words but the term ‘syndicate’ causes one to shudder, especially those amongst us who have heard and read so much of the underground and the ‘heavenly kings’! You don’t mess with the syndicate, that’s what they always say. It’s a high stake game
with few winners but many sufferers, if you know what I mean.
Shortly after Ramli’s statement was reported on, the China Press then front-pages the IGP’s purported resignation. This has since been refuted and China Press has suspended its editor for two weeks.
Matter closed?
No. Home Minister, Hishamuddin Hussein then confirms that IGP, Musa Hassan will leave at the end of his contract. Why the need to say this?
Usually, there will not be any raised eye-brows because those given one year extensions
in contract is a clear message for them to leave at the end of it. This is also done so as not to appear to have appeased the opposition demanding one’s immediate removal!
Musa has since responded that ‘third parties’ or ‘pihak-pihak tertentu’ have been giving directives to his men ….. another shot at the syndicated elements or Hishamuddin himself? Click HERE
Whatever speculation that goes on as a result of this brou-ha-ha is unavoidable in view of the many statements and mis-statements!
But what is evidently clear is that this is a perfect opportunity for Hishamuddin to appoint a new IGP who does not have too much of an excess baggage.
Past reports about the RM27million man (since acquitted) and subsequently a RM47million man (click HERE for NST article) ….. both of whom were ex-top cops in the Force, do not augur well for an important entity like that of the Police. For all we know, the latter must have had a corporate wind-fall of sorts thanks to a B. corporate chieftain.
But perceptions still need to be addressed!

talking about high profile people by reason of wealth, association or position. I am talking about the likes of Jose Mourinho (former Chelsea manager), Princess Diana, George Michael (singer), Tiger Woods, The Undertaker (wrestler) and Brian Clough (the best football manager England never had!)
press to sell papers but the press would not cover them if people are not interested in their perceived scandals! People seem to love scandals especially where it involves successful people ….. they like to see them fall somehow!
One person who did not take pains to do so was Brian Clough, a successful football player whose career was cut short by injury, and who went on to become a successful football manager, winning the English First Division title (now Premier League) with two different teams comprising mediocre players (Derby and Nottingham Forest). With Forest, Brian Clough also won the European Cup (now Champions League) twice.
He not only had a footballing brain but he could translate it into strategy on the field to great effect. I recall one game in the first half when Forest could not score against West Ham which was down to 10 men. After the pep talk at half time, Forest was a ‘different animal’ and totally decimated West Ham by taking advantage of that extra man!
Fast forward to current, and Inter Milan’s straight talking manager, Jose Mourinho becomes a close comparison to the great late Brian Clough. Having turned Porto into Champions Cup winners, he joined Chelsea and won 5 cups in three short seasons. Now with Inter Milan, they won the Serie A last season and recently beat Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions Cup.
My view of it all is that these critics (some call them jealous cretins!) do not like the perceived arrogance of successful achievers. Whatever quotes attributed to successful
people are dissected to the tiniest minutiae, resulting in mis-quotation or mis-perception.
